Aileron templates are now complete. I had to use a 5/16 router bit in the spar apertures of course, due to the spar width being 1/2" wide - the 1/2" router bit + ring guide wouldn't fit in the jig...

TIP: Look at what fractions are displayed on your measuring tools! I popped into Harbor Freight the other day, and purchase a stainless 12" rule. I was half ways through marking out on the template when I realized there were what I thought was 5 1/8th markings every 1/2" on the rule??!?? On looking closer it stated the fractions were in 1/10ths!! I had been in the cabinet industry for over 20 years, and NEVER once came across a ruler marked in 10ths. >:|

The making of the aileron templates were relatively uneventful - just a smaller version of their big brothers...

First batch of plywood has arrived from Aircraft Spruce. The UPS tracking stated 6 pieces of 1/4 ply, 24" X 48 weighed 51.2 pounds!?... as soon as it arrived, I promptly weighed it...sure enough - 51.2 pounds. The ply is VERY good quality. The whole buying process on the web was also good - ordered on a Thursday, arrived on UPS ground the following Wednesday.

Final view of the templates. The ply has also arrived, so lets role!
