Right Wing IX
Main block glued in place...
More foam strips..

A local EAA member kindly offered to give me some of his surplus blue foam he had stored away. I glued the foam in place, first with white wood glue, but was not happy with the sanding properties of this glue, so I used clear-coat as an adhesive, this worked really well.
After roughly shaping the foam tip, I then laid a coat of 'Super Fil' from Aircraft Spruce'. This is an epoxy filler that is extremely lightweight. It sanded really well, and in no time I had a good looking contour.
Next I will be glueing on the ply leading edge, and then will fibreglass the foam tip, marrying up with the 1/16 ply.
